About Fes Morocco
Fez (also spelled Fes) is a city in northern Morocco, and one of the country's four imperial cities, along with Marrakech, Meknes, and Rabat. It is the second largest city in Morocco, after Casablanca, and is known for its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning architecture.
The city is divided into two main parts: Fes el Bali (Old Fez), which is the historic center and home to many of the city's most famous attractions, and Fes el Jdid (New Fez), which was established in the 13th century and is known for its beautiful gardens and palaces.
One of the most popular attractions in Fez is the Medina of Fez el Bali, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest and best-preserved medieval cities in the world. The medina is home to numerous landmarks and historical buildings, including the University of Al Quaraouiyine, which is the oldest continuously operating university in the world.
Other notable attractions in Fez include the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Dar Batha Museum, and the Mellah (Jewish Quarter). The city is also known for its colorful markets, or souks, where visitors can shop for traditional Moroccan goods such as textiles, pottery, and spices.
